The death looks good on him.

Rulers intrigue, reporters investigate - and if such an excellent director Kevin Macdonald at work, is it a great thriller: incredibly gripping, visually brilliant, with a super casual Russell Crowe. And the dying newspaper in another leading role.

It begins with a small Abmurksung Gangsters and fast and elegant metropolitan pictures, a little of the classic conspiracy thrillers such as "French Connection" remember, and actually is "State of Play" a visually brilliant old-fashioned, yet tremendously exciting thriller.
