As a Jedi Knight, he embodied the goodness, in "Illuminati", he plays one God man. In blogs ONLINE interview, he explains Hollywood star Ewan McGregor, why religious figures irritate him, he is nothing with God can begin - and what a motorcycle tour for life teaches.

blogs ONLINE: In the Dan Brown adaptation "Illuminati" play the right hand of the Pope. Are you religious? After all, you come from the Catholic Scotland.

McGregor: No, not at all. My grandparents were not religious, my parents are not, in my whole family played no role in the faith. Even more disturbing was my first contact with religion. One summer, I must have been 13, my parents sent me into a Christian adventure camp. One evening she grabbed me and were quite intrusive and wanted to know if I have Jesus in my heart would accept. Well, I was a teenager, I knew not what I wanted, so I took it all very seriously, began to blubber and finally said: Yes, yes, I accept Jesus in my heart! Then I was five or six weeks, very religious, read the Bible and so on.

blogs ONLINE: And then?

McGregor: Then, I found out that a boy in my school, consisting of a really ultrareligiösen family, his father was beaten up was. Because I thought, bugger it!

blogs ONLINE: Secretly you must promise but metaphysics. The Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, you are in "Star Wars" game, is indeed nothing other than a priest.

McGregor: Religious people to play is just very interesting, because it is so incredibly self-confident are. I am in many aspects of life rather uncertain. This makes it very exciting to be in such a rigid belief hineinzuversetzen world.
And of course it's great, and before Tom Hanks added that he finds in the eye and to look with deep voice asking: "Do you believe in God?", As I have it in "Illuminati" was allowed to do.

McGregor: As an actor you worked a lot with their own imagination and ultimately takes everything back to what you experienced. I am no one who reads messages every day. But I am warring with what happens, whether it be here in Berlin or in Darfur. I walk with eyes wide open through life and love the music I hear, or just the movie, I just shoot. Or my motorcycle rides, which I much notice of reality, much more than usual in my life actor.

blogs ONLINE: You are with her boyfriend Danny Boorman around half the world, only you both and their motorcycles - throughout Europe, Russia, Alaska, Canada and the U.S. - and talking about a film. Why this tour oxen?

McGregor: It was the first really big challenge that I present myself as a grown man too. From London to New York, on a motorbike! But it was above all a fantastic lesson for life, because it was easy to make.

blogs ONLINE: Simple? That you must explain.

McGregor: Well, you just tear one mile after the other and do not think big about the future. You know, I did last year in New York Shakespeare played the Iago from "Othello". Before it goes to the samples, I usually learn my part completely out. So I began: week long to learn, learn, learn. Sometime shortly before I was a nervous breakdown! Five acts, three hours theater, all of this text - I would never manage! Until then we started to rehearse and I realized that we are always just one scene after another make. Pieces for scrap. Like on our trip. Kilometers before us was important - nothing else.

blogs ONLINE: The critics were very enthusiastic about your presentation of the intriguers Jago. In particular, they praised how much humanity you have made the villains. Can you not even really the bad guy rauslassen?

McGregor: I can not just play bad people, I do not know what that is. Even if someone is doing terrible things, they are based on a motif that a faith that the person for the important and vital. When Iago I viewed the source of his jealousy, his fear and hatred will be incredible. And if you have wondered where all this comes, then it can no longer play as a baddie, then we must also see in him pathetic. He is trapped in his own terrible chaos. And I have tried to depict.

blogs ONLINE: You play for the theater, have a family, go on tour, donate a lot of money for Unicef and even have success in Hollywood. You can actually buy the action figure. What drives you still on?

McGregor: I have no goals. I am always very arrogant and self-aware of what my work is concerned. I like the acting and always try to become better. Maybe I was driving to yet more experience as an actor to collect.

blogs ONLINE: When did you last learned something?

McGregor: I just turn on Sylt with Roman Polanski, and I found it very pleasant, with a director to work is actually directed by, so the actors instructions there. The make is not so many. That I can grow. And better.
